A Love Letter to New York

by Barb E on December 3, 2011

What better way to spend a weekend and to celebrate Opera Volunteer International’s 40th Anniversary than in New York City.  Following a board meeting where we learned about plans for our upcoming conference in conjunction with OPERA America, we wined and dined and honored this year’s outstanding volunteer efforts. The evening ended on Soprano Desirée Earl Soteres’ dazzling high notes. Her very special recital was accompanied by Alexander Rovang.

Special thanks to Mary Svela, OVI Vice President of Marketing, and Ann Meschery, OVI New York On Site Coordinator, for putting it all together.

Thank you also to special awards program guest Marc Scorca, OPERA America President and CEO,  and to Laura Day Giarolo, OA Director of Learning & Community Engagement, for her thorough review of conference plans, and Stephanie Helms,  Manager of OA’s National Opera Center for the informative tour.
