Beyond Knoxville

by Barb E on July 2, 2016

Fabulous weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee!  The folks opened their homes and hearts and made us fall in love with their city of rolling hills on the Tennessee River.  But equally delightful were the chances to meet and talk to other OVI members over breakfast grits and to learn about their challenges and solutions.  Or to get an impromptu lesson in bluegrass music at the Museum of Appalachia.  And to return home with ideas – and a head full of Gilbert & Sullivan.

Meeting new people with whom one can share the trials and the successes of volunteering – and having a darn good time to boot – is what conferences and meetings are about.   Do join OVI in Dallas in the spring when we rub elbows with the opera pros and recognize volunteers who help make the magic happen.  Then Tucson in the fall.  All will be revealed, so keep watching.

OVI is now an eligible charitable organization for AmazonSmile.  Click on the link to get details.
