Former OVI President and Lifetime Member

Ann Logan Craft, opera lover, super volunteer and past president of Opera Volunteers International, passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. While her list of accomplishments and positions is spectacular, two organizations topped that list: Houston Grand Opera and The Open Door Mission Foundation.

Not only was she the president of Opera Guilds International, as OVI was then known, she was also a lifetime member. She was also a life trustee of Houston Grand Opera, president of the Houston Grand Opera Guild, chair of the Opera Ball and chair of the Pavarotti Recital Committee.

Immediate Past President of OVI Fern Grauer remembers her: “She was a lovely friend. In the ‘old days’, we were usually roommates at OGI conferences and shared some wonderful times. I’ m left with wonderful memories.”

OVI Board Member Rose Betty Williams and fellow Houstonian recalls: “Ann was the quintessential lady and will be profoundly missed! She was a remarkable talent, a real ambassador for opera, HGO and OGI (OVI) and a dear friend! She was and always will be a treasure!”
